At Home Teeth Whitening: Does It Work?

If you know me then you know that I LOVE coffee. I will drink it at any time of the day and if I'm being honest it's the first thing I think about when I wake up. As soon as my feet hit the floor I am stumbling to the coffee pot.

The Process

Not long after Smile Brilliant reached out to me I recieved my first box. This box included everything I would need to make my impressions for my custom fit trays. This is a super easy process. You mix one catalyst and one base paste mix together for 45 seconds until it is a solid blue color. After you have done this you immediately set the mixture into the impression trays and spread evenly then bite down on the trays to create your first impression. This process does not hurt or cause any pain and it only takes a few minutes!

After you have created your impressions the next step is to drop them in the envelope that has already been stamped and addressed for you. In about a week you will recieve your custom fit trays back from Smile Brilliant and then let the whitening process begin!

Whitening Your Teeth

The whitening process was very easy for me. I only experienced sensitivity one time and I just took a night off from whitening and was good after that. The only thing I found hard was fitting it into my schedule every day. The whitening process takes anywhere from 45 miuntes to 3 hours depending on how sensitive your teeth are and how much time you have to whiten your teeth. You have to find the time in your day that works best for you in your schedule. This for me was before bed time. I usually kept my trays in anywhere from 45 miuntes to 90 minutes. While whitening my teeth I would turn on Netflix or do some things around the house while I waited. As soon as I brushed my teeth and rinsed my trays, I would use the desensitizing gel that Smile Brilliant offers. I left this on for 15 minutes. The desensitizing gel was probably my favorite part of the process. I hardly felt any pain (and I have VERY sensitive teeth). After this, the whitening process is over!
